Chocolate (I'm in LOVE) Sauce!

Yo, it's almost valentines day and tis the season to eat chocolate! This recipe has five ingredients! Yes, you read this correctly, five amazing ingredients to both rock and ease your world.


1/2 cup raw cacao powder

3/4 cup virgin coconut oil (if you don't like coconut taste, exchange for almond butter or tahini)

LOTS OF OPTIONS FOR SWEETENERS! 1/4 coconut nectar or maple syrup or raw honey (note: coconut nectar is less sweet and bit more sour than maple syrup. It also has a lower glycemic index. I like to use both for different occasions. If it is for the 'shifting' palette (those folks used to eating a standard American diet, then use maple syrup! If you use raw honey, it may 'weep' ... meaning that the coconut oil and honey may not dissolve into each other.)

1/2 tsp vanilla

dash of sea salt


Melt coconut oil. Once melted add cacao, vanilla, sea salt and coconut nectar. Stir together and refrigerate until thick, but still a little runny. Enjoy by the spoonful, on ice-cream, or with a banana!
